Really the best universal power adapter

The problem

The best description I know can be found on this page. There are just too many plugs. My fellow blogger advised the Samsonite universal one which covers you in the USA and Europe -- but not in some more exotic (?) countries with their more exotic plugs. Check the "Type I", used in Australia and China for example. The very popular Swiss converter and its various knockoffs have more plugs than the Samsonite but that is an unwieldy piece to carry around. Even though the Samsonite is better as it's at least brick-shaped and not cylindrical, it's bigger than the plug, which is just unwieldy. Also, all these constructs operate like this: you slide some button which causes the plug to come out and then some mechanism holds it in place. When you plug in, you work against this mechanism which makes me at least wary.

The solution

If you look at invidual converters they are flat and small, not unwieldy big boxes. I was quite sure that someone managed to manufacture a similar universal plug.

Indeed, there is one, but it's painful to find outside of Japan at least. As far as I know, there is only one eBay store that sells this for a few bucks:

Two plugs, for transport you can plug inside the other, when used sometimes you use one of them as the "socket opener" for the other. It covers every country I am aware of :) Neither of them is bigger than the plug, it's not like the a big unwieldy block. The flat plug blades rotate a bit to cover the Australian-type plug and you can push the European-style plugs closer together for certain connectors. When you plug in, you do not work against any fastener as these are molded in. I just love it.
