With the recent news that cell phone manufacturers will standardize on the micro-usb charger I'm elated. When looking at the contents of my gadget bag it's only too obvious that chargers take up most of the space.
This problem is perhaps only somewhat helped by the fact that I have a nice universal power adapter and also a universal power strip which accepts USA, EU, UK, and South American plugs. So, I use my adapter to plug in my power strip and then can plug in basically anything else to the power strip.
It's important to note, I don't deal with converters, just adapters. Before plugging in your devices make sure that they will work with the voltage they will receive. Most devices can handle from 110 to 240 volts which means they work all over the world, but some devices will only work with a subset of voltages. Those devices should just be left at home when going on a long and thoroughly international trip.
